Registrations now open for the region's largest diabetes congress

The countdown is on, with registrations and abstract submissions now open for one of the most significant international diabetes events ever hosted in Australia.
In August 2026, Melbourne will welcome the International Diabetes Federation Western Pacific Region Congress, held with the Australasian Diabetes Congress and Metabolic Diseases 2026, creating the largest diabetes congress in the Southern Hemisphere.
Taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 18 to 21 August, this expanded international meeting will bring together the best of all three events, offering an unparalleled platform for collaboration, education and innovation across the Western Pacific region and beyond.
With more than 2,500 delegates expected from around the world, the congress invites researchers, clinicians, educators and advocates alike. There is a place for your voice and your work.
Hosted by the Australian Diabetes Educators Association, the Australian Diabetes Society and Diabetes Australia, this landmark event will unite health professionals, researchers and advocates to share the latest in research, clinical care, education and lived experience.
