‘Incredible recognition of the collective efforts’: Dr Giuliana Murfet receives ADEA Honorary Life Membership Award

23 August 2024—ADEA is delighted to announce that Dr Giuliana Murfet has been honoured with the prestigious ADEA Honorary Life Membership Award.
This accolade, bestowed by the ADEA Board, recognises Dr Murfet’s extraordinary contributions to diabetes education, clinical practice, and research during her distinguished career.

Dr Murfet’s career has been marked by dedication to advancing diabetes care.
​
As a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney’s School of Public Health and an active nurse practitioner specialising in diabetes and bariatrics at the Tasmanian Department of Health, she has made significant strides in the co-design and evaluation of rural and regional models of care.
​
Her work has notably contributed to areas such as diabetes in pregnancy, paediatric diabetes, obesity management in type 2 diabetes, high-risk foot, and the health workforce for diabetes care.
