The 2025 Abbott Case Study Awards once again highlighted the innovative use of the FreeStyle Libre continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system and Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) to improve outcomes in diabetes care.

Congratulations to this year's award recipients:

  • Rebecca Ritchie: first place and Judges’ Choice

  • Liam Collins: second place

  • Jijimol Arun: tied third place

  • Deborah Schubert: tied third place

  • Trang Vu: Early Career Award

The winners were announced at the Australasian Diabetes Congress on the Gold Coast on 21 August.

ADEA President Ann Bush said it was "quite a close competition and I congratulate everyone who submitted".

Bryan Ladell of Abbott Australasia also commended the profession.

"We know that diabetes care is not just about technology; it’s also about people," he said.

"No one understands that more than yourselves, credentialled diabetes educators".

ADEA thanks Abbott for supporting the Case Study Awards since 2017, helping to showcase the valuable work of CDEs and their ongoing commitment to person-centred care.
