Conference Dinner | What’s new? What’s coming? Diabetes management in an ageing populationDiabetes management is constantly changing and evolving. New medications and new technologies provide challenges and opportunities for those involved in the care of people with diabetes. Specifically type 2 diabetes is not only increasingly occurring in young patients, but also has a high prevalence in our ageing population. Managing these patients requires thinking beyond their HbA1c and should take into consideration multiple factors such as duration of diabetes, comorbidities, ability to self manage and choice of pharmacotherapy. PresenterAssociate Professor Roger Chen Associate Professor Chen is Senior Staff Specialist, Diabetes and Endocrinology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney with clinical interests in general endocrinology, diabetes and osteoporosis. He is visiting specialist, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
