Advocacy

One of ADEA’s main objectives is to advocate and protect members’ interests across local, regional, and national issues. Opportunities are provided for Credentialled Diabetes Educators to represent ADEA on advisory and expert panels on matters related to diabetes, diabetes education and care.

Members are invited to participate in key consultative groups, responses to consultation documents and key strategic projects. Examples include, but are not limited to: the ADEA policy advisory group, contributing to the research project Value of a CDE, the Australian Diabetes Foot Network, Diabetes and Driving working party, Sick Day Guidelines working party or lobbying for greater access to Medicare and Private Health Insurance rebates.
