ADEA congratulates the Abbott Government’s initiative and the financial investment to improve access to health care for rural and remote communities, older Australians and those with chronic conditions.
ADEA understands the critical role of nurses not only in providing high quality health services but also in managing chronic conditions in primary care setting.
The President of ADEA, Tracy Aylen is delighted with the government’s announcement and said ‘ADEA supports the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) in their endeavours to strengthen primary health care and its sustainability into the future.
Better support and coordination of care for people with chronic conditions including diabetes is critical’.
As the national peak body representing specialist Credentialled Diabetes Educators, ADEA looks forward to working closely with APNA to be able to provide better access to quality diabetes education and self-management to more than a million of Australians with diabetes.
