ADEA NSW/ACT State Conference 2025

29–30 May 2025 | Canberra

Join us in the nation’s capital for the ADEA NSW/ACT State Conference 2025—a two-day, in-person event designed to equip you with practical tools, deep insight, and real-world strategies for diabetes care across the lifespan.

This year’s conference kicks off with a practical skills workshop at 2pm–6pm on Thursday 29 May, followed by a full-day program on Friday 30 May featuring expert presentations and peer connection.

The conference program on Friday 30 May covers timely topics across paediatrics, primary care, aged care, outreach and more, including:

• Susan Davidson (CEO, ADEA) and Natasha Veech present an ADEA update, followed by a welcome from Abbott Diabetes Care, principal partner
• Effie Houvardas, NDSS Program Manager at ADEA, shares an update about NDSS services
• Paediatrics session – to be confirmed
• Kirstin Turner, Consultant Clinical Pharmacist and CDE, and Bente Hart, Consultant Clinical Pharmacist and Diabetes Educators, explore community and aged care approaches to diabetes in older adults
• Professor Gregory Fulcher, Endocrinologist, presents on diabetes management in primary care, highlighting the CDE’s role and offering practical tips
• Kristine Wright and Simone Collins from the Young Adult Team at Canberra Health Services discuss aligning diabetes care with the priorities of young people
• Eucale Stanes, Dietitian, presents on disordered eating in diabetes
• Dr Carolyn Petersons, Endocrinologist, shares a model of care from Aboriginal outreach clinics
• Nicole LeCornu, Nurse Practitioner and CDE, explores multidisciplinary management of diabetes in pregnancy, drawing from a nurse practitioner–led service at North Canberra Hospital

With catered breaks, a trade exhibition, and plenty of space for conversation, this event is ideal for Credentialled Diabetes Educators, health professionals, researchers and anyone involved in diabetes care.

Australasian Diabetes Congress 2025

We are delighted to host the Australasian Diabetes Congress at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, August 20–22, 2025. The content will once again be exceptional. The program organising committees of both societies have collaboratively developed an integrated program that will cover the latest breakthroughs in research, education and clinical care in diabetes. We have engaged outstanding speakers with whom you will be able to network to exchange opinions and discuss how to best care for the person living with diabetes. We are excited to provide you with opportunities to see old colleagues, meet new ones and connect again with our industry partners in the exhibition hall.
