Roche ADC Registration Assistance Grants

This year, the Australasian Diabetes Congress 2020 (ADC2020) will be held virtually on 11–13 November 2020.

ADEA-Roche ADC-registration Assistance Grants contribute 50% of full ADC2020 registration for up to 40 ADEA members. There are 12 Registration Assistance Grants still available, and eligible members are encouraged to apply. Applications for these Registration Assistance Grants opened on Thursday 10 September and will close on Monday 28 September 2020.

Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs) or those who are working towards becoming a CDE, can claim CPD points for attending ADC2020.

The ADC-registration Assistance Grants program is financially supported by Roche Diabetes Care.

Conditions of funding

An amount of 50% of the full registration for the Australasian Diabetes Congress 2020 (ADC2020) will be available to successful applicants. ADC2020 will be an online congress. It will be lived streamed and interactive so that attendees can ask questions and participate fully in the congress. All sessions will also be recorded, allowing attendees access to these sessions for up to 12 months after the congress.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a financial member of ADEA for at least twelve months at the time of application.
  • Applicants must not have received a Travel Grant or Registration Assistance Grant from ADEA to attend ADEA conferences, i.e. ADC or Branch Conferences, in the previous two years.
  • Applicants must not have received a grant from any other body as assistance to attend ADC2020 or a meeting held in association with ADC2020.
  • Applicants must not have received financial support from ADEA through various activities, i.e. Case Study Competition, CDE of the Year, in the previous two years.
  • Evidence of active participation in ADC2020, if any, i.e. submitted abstracts or participation in ADEA committees or special interest groups, will support your application (optional).
  • This prize is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.

Application Process

The application form is now available and applications will close at midnight on Monday 28 September 2020.

Selection criteria

The applicant must demonstrate the following:

  1. Difficulty attending ADC2020 without receiving the ADC-registration Assistance Grant
  2. Benefits of attending ADC2020 for their current practice in diabetes education and genuine interest in learning and development
  3. Active participation in ADC2020 by presenting a paper or poster, chairing a session, etc. (optional)

Selection process

A review committee comprised of three ADEA members will review all applications against the eligibility and selection criteria. The committee will forward their recommendations to the CEO who will endorse the successful applicants.

  • 19 October: Results released and applicants will be notified
  • 31 October: Early bird registration for ADC2020 closes
