Roche ADC Registration and Travel Assistance Grants

ADC 2021: The Australasian Diabetes Congress 2021 will take place in Brisbane.

This year, the Australasian Diabetes Congress 2021 (ADC2021) will be held in Brisbane 11-13 August 2021.

ADEA-Roche ADC registration and travel assistance grants contribute to being able to attend ADC2021. All eligible members are encouraged to apply.

Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs) or those who are working towards becoming a CDE, can claim CPD points for attending ADC2021.

The ADC-registration Assistance Grants program is financially supported by Roche Diabetes Care.

Conditions of funding

ADC2021 will be a hybrid event (as long as travel continues to be permitted across Australia). Some of the congress will be lived streamed and interactive so that attendees can ask questions and participate fully in most of the ADEA content. The live streamed sessions will also be recorded, allowing attendees access to these sessions for up to 12 months after the congress.

Travel grants will only be available to delegates who attend the congress in person.

There are 5 x $1000 travel grants to be awarded.

Registration assistance grants may be used for attending in person or online.

There are 17 x registration assistance grants to be awarded, which will cover 50% of the early bird registration cost.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a financial member of ADEA for at least twelve months at the time of application.
  • Applicants must not have received a Travel Grant or Registration Assistance Grant from ADEA to attend ADEA conferences, i.e. ADC or Branch Conferences, in the previous two years.
  • Applicants must not have received a grant from any other body as assistance to attend ADC2021 or a meeting held in association with ADC2021.
  • Applicants must not have received financial support from ADEA through various activities, i.e. Case Study Competition, CDE of the Year, in the previous two years.
  • Evidence of active participation in ADC2021, if any, i.e. submitted abstracts or participation in ADEA committees or special interest groups, will support your application (optional).
  • This prize is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.

Selection criteria

The applicant must demonstrate the following:

  1. Difficulty attending ADC2021 without receiving the ADC Assistance Grant
  2. Benefits of attending ADC2021 for their current practice in diabetes education and genuine interest in learning and development
  3. Active participation in ADC2021 by presenting a paper or poster, chairing a session, etc. (optional)

Selection process

A review committee comprised of three ADEA members will review all applications against the eligibility and selection criteria. The committee will forward their recommendations to the CEO who will endorse the successful applicants.

  • 14 June: Results released and applicants will be notified
  • 1 July: Early bird registration for ADC2021 closes
