National Evidence Based Guidelines for Type 2 Diabetes

These guidelines are being produced by the Diabetes Australia Guideline Development Consortium under contract to the Commonwealth Government of Australia.

The Australian Centre for Diabetes Strategies is managing the guideline development process under a sub-contract to Diabetes Australia.

Expert Working Groups comprising medical and non-medical clinicians, representatives from relevant national non-government organisations, general practitioners and consumers are providing input into the development of nine guidelines covering:

* Endorsed by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)

These documents are large technical reports (in PDF format) describing the guideline development process and providing a full textual account of the literature reviews. Once endorsed by the NHMRC the guidelines will be summarised and reformatted into user friendly presentations that are easy for clinicians and consumers to access.
