The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is the peak Australian organisation for health care professionals providing services for people with diabetes or with an interest in diabetes care and management. Diabetes education is a specialty field of health care practice. The ADEA sets standards and develops guidelines for the practice of diabetes education as one of its strategies to achieve its aim of optimal health and well being for all people affected by, and at risk of, diabetes.
