Applying for credentialling points for education events
CPD points
The Australian Diabetes Educators Associations (ADEA) assesses courses, workshops and seminars on topics that support the professional development requirements of diabetes educators. Successfully applications are allocated Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points that can be claimed for when applying for initial recognition or re-credentialling as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE).
Assessment
Course, workshops and seminars which have been awarded CPDs have been assessed as:
• Reflecting evidence-based best practice in diabetes education and care
• Having learning outcomes in accordance with the National Core Competencies for Credentialled Diabetes Educators
• Meeting the standard expected of professional development activities for CDEs

The assessment process includes determination of how many CPDs that participants can claim for completing you course, seminar or workshop and this information may be used as part of your promotion.
CPD points are valid for a period of one (1) year for short courses and for repeated activities such as workshops and seminars. Some course may be allocated CPDs for two (2) years.
Applying
The application for assessment must be completed prior to the commencement of the course, workshop or seminar.
To apply, please download and complete application forms listed below, enclose supporting and advertising materials together with the application fee and post to the ADEA National Office.
