Lifelong learning
Health care professionals engage in lifelong learning to maintain their skills and ensure their knowledge meets the needs the people they provide services to and is relevant to the current health care environment. This section has been developed to support and encourage ongoing professional development and learning in diabetes education and care for diabetes educators and other health care professionals.
It includes our courses and presentations. You will find information about the current post graduate certificates in diabetes education accredited by the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA). There is a section with details about education events which have been accredited by ADEA and allocated Credentialling Points (CPs) that can be claimed by diabetes educators when applying for recognition as an ADEA Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) or by CDEs as part of the professional development activities required to achieve re-credentialling.
The following pages also include information about how education providers can apply to ADEA for accreditation and allocation of CPs of their courses and events. The ADEA has also included a section with links to websites containing information about diabetes care, management and education.
