Our organisation
Governance
The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is a national association and has its administration office in Canberra. It has Branches in all Australian states and territories. The ADEA Branches have the responsibility for furthering the objectives of the ADEA within their jurisdiction.
The ADEA is governed by a National Board of Directors. The Branch members elect the National Board of Directors as well as their state and territory Branch Executive.
Membership
The ADEA is a member association and our strength is the members’ ongoing commitment, participation, voluntary work and support. ADEA wishes to acknowledge the ongoing contribution of its membership.
The majority of the membership is health care professionals who practice within the specialty field of diabetes education and care. Health care professionals practicing in a general care setting or in another specialty fields are also welcome to join. The membership is multidisciplinary and includes practitioners from most health care professional groups such as doctors, nurses, midwives, dietitians, pharmacists, podiatrists and psychologists.
