Scholarships

Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) recognises the need to increase the diabetes education workforce to ensure all Australians with or at risk of diabetes and their family can access services. The ADEA considers diabetes education a speciality field of practice and is committed to maintaining a skilled workforce so that people with diabetes and their families can be assured evidence-based best interventions and care. With the support of its sustaining members and business partners, ADEA actively pursues opportunities to assist and reward members who are committed to maintaining and broadening their expertise and skills.

Grants

ADEA encourages members to commit to lifelong learning, particularly in the specialty field of diabetes education and in personal interest area of diabetes education and care as a means of ensuring their knowledge, skills and expertise is current and of a high standard.

Current Scholarships

ADEA encourages members to undertake an ADEA accredited post graduate certificate in diabetes education and management as one of the requirements to achieve recognition as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE).

Current Grants

ADEA Research Grant

The aim of this grant is to assist diabetes educators to undertake research in the workplace. Not only will this provide an opportunity for individuals to improve their research skills and competence, but the evidence base for diabetes education and management will be enhanced.
